StartupList ("StartupList", "we", "us") operates startuplist.ai, a marketplace that connects startups with credits, discounts, and deals from software vendors. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and — importantly — how we share it with the vendors whose deals you access.
Information we collect
When you sign up and build your profile, we collect:
- Account details: your name and work email address.
- Company profile: your company name, website, description, stage (e.g. pre-seed, seed), team size, and funding raised.
- Activity: the deals you view and apply for, and how you found us (for example, a partner referral link).
How we use your information
- To match you with credits and deals you're likely eligible for.
- To operate, maintain, and improve the marketplace.
- To contact you about your account, deals, and relevant updates.
How we share your information — please read
StartupList is a marketplace, and sharing your information with vendors is core to how it works and how it is funded:
- When you apply for a vendor's deal, we share your profile with that vendor so they can verify eligibility and process your application. This includes your name, work email, company name, website, stage, team size, and funding raised.
- As part of our business, we may share, license, or sell startup data — including the profile and eligibility information you provide (such as company, stage, team size, and funding) — to vendors and partners. This is a way the marketplace is monetized. We may do this on an individual (lead) basis for deals you engage with, and on an aggregated or de-identified basis more broadly.
- Service providers: we use trusted third parties to run the service (for example hosting, database, and email providers), who process data on our behalf.
Outside of the vendor and partner marketplace described above, we do not sell your personal information to unrelated third parties.
Your choices and rights
- You can view and update your profile at any time in your account settings.
- You can ask us to delete your account and associated data by emailing john@startuplist.ai. Note that vendors you've already applied to may retain the information you shared with them under their own policies.
- Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights (such as access, correction, or deletion). Email us to exercise them.
Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to operate the marketplace, meet our obligations, and resolve disputes.
Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your information, but no online service can guarantee absolute security.
Children
StartupList is for businesses and is not directed at anyone under 18.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "last updated" date above.
